Inviting wide trails, that are smooth underfoot and sufficiently marked. The trails lead through a patchwork of floodplains, Cypress swamps, pine flatwoods, and prairies. A road, closed to motorized vehicles, cuts through the park offering a smooth surface for biking and skating. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't a boardwalk that would lead a bit deeper into the swamp and I am not the biggest fan of 12 foot wide trails but all in all a very relaxing walk with only few stretches of shade.

Starts out as a small parking lot on the side of the road, a sign and a fence line with a trail kiosk. The trail starts out shady with a lot of different paths to take, then leads to some very sunny trails. It was a beautiful park, well kept and had easy to read trail markers. I'd love to come back, prepare for the sun, and explore the rest of the trails. We saw a lot of birds, deer, reptiles and butterflies. The bugs were abundant, but the mosquitoes weren't too bad, though it's been a dry year so far.

We always enjoy this trail! Lot's of options. Shade is good, but certain trails have none. Great option for either a quick walk or a lengthy hike. I don't think we have ever taken the same route twice. Very dog friendly. The trail will get muddy (and mosquitoey) after a lot of rain, but generally is fantastic.

This trail is pretty good. Pretty secluded paths, seeing minimal people besides the entrance for a majority of my walk. Not much wildlife, little shade, and no benches are a few problems this place faces. There is also very limited parking, which is probably a factor in the amount of people that come here. Pretty cool place though.

Honestly this place is PERFECT for what we use it for.
The trails are secluded and private. There is some flooding at the entrance after heavy rain but once you get further in I haven’t encountered issues yet.
Depending on time of year there can be a lot of mosquitoes so bring some bug repellent just in case.
There aren’t any benches or water sources to refill either.
All of these things might sound like cons but I believe all of these factors severely reduces the foot traffic there allowing us to have a private trail for walking and running with our dog Obi.
It gets hot so bring water with you in a backpack but as I mentioned in the beginning this trail is PERFECT for what we use it for.

3.5 miles of partially shaded trails. Can be extended as the trail connects to the paved Upper Tampa Bay trail. Parking only no facilities, no water, no bathrooms. Dog friendly. The trail can get water logged very easily in many spots so would avoid after a heavy rain. Road noise isn’t noticeable in most parts of the trail and altogether it is a pretty scenic hike.

This was a fun trail. Some of the turns were marked, but not all of them. I had to use Google Maps frequently to figure out which way to go. If you go when it's sunny, don't expect much shade. Also, it hasn't rained for awhile and there were still some muddy sections of trail. If you go after any amount of rain, expect for your shoes to be covered in mud.
