Beautiful place to take a 2 or 3 mile walk. I enjoyed the white oak trail. The building (with restrooms) closes 4pm most days but the trails are open till dusk / sunset. Many people seem to just review the weirheim national wildlife Refuge on Google but these are pretty much the same place.

Trails on both sides of the Carmas River follow the marsh. I walked about 8 miles finishing on the East side for sunset. Due to Covid the Center is closed. The woods are peaceful and there are many benches to stop and rest. It is a popular spot for birding and at dusk a deer startled me. The Refuge is well maintained and the paths are free of roots and could accommodate a wheel chair.

Very nice and well kept trails. Went for a morning run through the 6.3 total miles of trails. Great for checking out wildlife.

I started coming here when I was 5 years old, I'm 58 now. Way before the federal government took over. This old man used to watch The Place. His name was Murdoch. He ran the place for the lady. Shirley and then donated it to the federal government. I might be wrong, I think they just took it. But it's a great place to visit.
