I find the reviews here to be so sad. If you don't care about the environment, don't talk to them.
Once I agreed to talk with them, they told me what they did and I was happy to be involved. I can afford it. But they went out of their way before fully signing me up to ensure I was not being coerced. They called their headquarters and asked me to confirm that I understood what I was donating to and how the donations would work. This is a real non-profit doing good work. I happen to be concerned about our environment and want to support this cause.
It's so hard to ask for money, even for great causes. I have a lot of respect for their courage.

Happy to donate to their mission. Yes, I was approached by a woman in front of Safeway in Oakland but she was very nice and I could've said no if I wanted to. She wasn't aggressive at all but obviously their goal is to find as many supporters as they can. They do ask for a commitment to donate at least 1 year for $25/mo but I'm assuming it's not like you couldn't cancel if for whatever reason financial hardship occurred. So donate if you can or just say no, I cannot make that commitment at this time. Don't bash the organization ! If people are aggressively approached, maybe the organization can offer better training.

I'm so disappointed. I didn't mind to make a donation for a good thing. But selling my address to a bunch of beggars that spamming my mailbox - it is too much.

They can and will sell your personal information to other, equally scammy organizations.
