Sammy came through for us on short notice. He and his crew helped thoroughly modernize our 1980s townhome.

Upstairs, we turned an oddly designed single bathroom into two beautiful and functional full bathrooms. As you can imagine, this required substantial modifications and additions to the existing plumbing. After initially planning to cut through the subfloor, Sammy proposed a much easier solution: to go in through the first-floor ceiling instead. I appreciated these kinds of insights throughout the remodel. The original pipes also had a steady drip from the attic AC drain line and Sammy proposed angling the new drain lines so that the drips would run down the side rather than fall straight down—worked like a charm! The master bathroom also required a lot of custom pieces (specifically two inset storage niches and a cabinet above the double vanity), which Sammy built as needed. Their shower waterproofing was thorough and they used the excellent Schluter-DITRA uncoupling and waterproofing membrane for the bathroom floors. As a bonus, they were also able to raise the ceiling of the master bathroom (it had previously been built down for an old school recessed light cavity).

In the redesigned, second upstairs bathroom, Sammy and his crew successfully shortened an oversized tile shower into the usual 3ft x 5ft dimensions. Previously, the space had been used for just a shower and a toilet. Since we were turning it into a full bathroom of its own, we knew the shower needed to be smaller. They were able to shrink the dimensions of the shower while keeping the original shower wall tile in place.

They also installed ventilation fans in both bathrooms and routed them outside. Same story above the range in the kitchen. Plus a ceiling fan at the peak of a vaulted ceiling (which can be a bit tricky).

Downstairs, Sammy and his Crew leveled our slab flooring and installed lovely new flooring (complete with the appropriate vapor barrier). They also installed new baseboards, door casings, and two-panel Shaker style interior doors throughout the house. If you're looking for a quick way to rapidly make your house feel newer, change out your doors and trim! We also had them replace the old window sills.

In the process, we discovered some water-damaged framing below windows. DS pivoted quickly to tear out the old wood and replace it as needed.

They also added new outlets and switches throughout. No issues there. Drywall work throughout was good. Some of the tile we picked out for the master bathroom required extra precision, and they were up to the task.

The other large change downstairs was opening up the wall between the kitchen and dining room. This dramatically improved the feel and flow of the downstairs.

All of this was over the course of one month. Quite packed! I was often working on other (smaller) remodeling projects alongside Sammy and his team. I also performed a lot of the demolition myself. None of this was an issue.

Lastly, the thing that really sold me on DS Total Remodeling was the itemized price quotes that Sammy provided. It helped us decide which parts of the project we could reasonably pursue and which we would have to set aside for later. And, as the situation changed (e.g. repairing water-damaged framing), we could clearly see what the additional money was going toward.

We love our remodeled home and appreciate all the work Sammy and his team put into it!

After getting at least 8 other quotes, and not feeling peaceful about moving forward with any of them, Sammy from DS Remodeling stopped by and we quickly knew we had found our contractor for our master bathroom remodel. It was a complete gut, with a wall coming down and another wall going up (including moving some plumbing and electrical). New shower, vanity, toilet, tile, building out a new linen closet, sinks, fixtures...the works. DS Total Remodeling was simply outstanding to work with! We found ds total remodeling after going through and getting over 7 bids from different contractors. Sammeeh was the best. His pricing was the most competitive and he was very professional in the initial meeting.

We decided to proceed with him and did a complete remodel of our first floor which included the kitchen, family area, and half bath.

He provided an itemized estimate which ended up being accurate through the scope of the project. Usually this is not the case when doing a major renovation. He has a lot of experience and was able to use that expertise to help us save on the cabinet solution around the family area. He ended up customizing the standard cabinets and they turned out great.

His whole team is very honest and we trusted him with access to our home during the project and he made sure everything was safe.

After 2 years we completed the wooden flooring on the second floor of our home and he delivered the same great level of quality and professionalism.

After meeting with Sammeeh, I stopped looking for contractors, because I knew we'd found the one to remodel our kitchen and floors. We were amazed at how efficiently they work and the quality of their finished product is beyond compare. We heard horror stories about the amount of dust there would be when taking up tile floors. With this team, we experienced none of that. They kept our home clean throughout the entire process.
