I came here yesterday, spent about $40 on Christmas decorations. Everything is pretty over priced here so I took my time to find things within my budget.
When I go to pay for my items, the worker Nancy takes a $3 Christmas tree skirt and tells me the price is wrong. I said that’s not fair to change the price once I’m already about to pay for it. She says “somebody changed the sticker price.”

So basically, if they think an item is priced too low they will change their mind last minute on the price AND accuse you of changing the sticker. Greedy.

Reading through some other reviews it seems this is a common practice of theirs. I’ve donated to this store many times but never again!!! Shady business

Super over priced. Can sometimes get good deals only with the 75% sticker sale. Multiple times I've seen priced higher than the item brand new. For example a $1.50 candle priced up at $2. Could have been an honest mistake if the original price tag had not been on the candle right next to where they stuck the sticker. Sandals priced higher than what it costs to buy them brand new. Tatty old branded leggings at $20. Shein items at new price or more 😂 Comical really. I donated some fun leggings there which cost me 2 for $15 at a Calgary market. They were then priced at $10 each at over a year old. Also be careful at the till. Ask for a receipt and check it as a few times they've added it up wrong. And will be painful to deal with if you leave it longer than 24 hours to come back. Not like anyone has a job or anything.

Way overpriced. Some items cost an unreasonable amount. For certain products, it would make more sense to purchase new items rather than buy donated ones at prices that are almost the same as new. This was a pretty good store before, but unfortunately not anymore.

They have had a GoPro knockoff on sale for around 5 years, for around $200. It's from the mid 2000's, it wasn't worth that when it came out.

This is a great snapshot of their pricing. Want to buy a hard drive that has been used as a baseball, with connectors that no computer from the past 20 years has? Hope you like paying as much as a brand new one.

And their music is straight out of Guantanamo Bay. Every time I walk around I feel like going up to the counter and telling them whatever sort of sensitive data they want to know, as it feels like I'm being tortured for information.

They get their stuff for free and then charge an arm and a leg for it. Meanwhile in Squamish, their thrift store funds the local women's shelter, is on main street in a prime real estate location and charges .... $2 for a book. Clearly, someone is making money here and it certainly isn't the people who need it the most.

Used to be great, pretty average now. Prices are way too high on clothing and anything that isn't basic household goods you can find at the Dollarama, and they take advantage of the fact that they are one of the few places in the Bow Valley where people can find affordable items. Pretty sad tbh. You can still find a good deal or two sometimes, but the majority of stuff they sell they look up online and on eBay and price accordingly. I stop by occasionally but I never expect much. 😂

Yes, they help charities, but I believe you can still do that without taking advantage of Bow Valley residents.

I make a call to all people in town: STOP DONATING HERE! If you are giving your stuff for free to this store, maybe you want to try Facebook Marketplace or Pass it On first, and see if someone will take it. This store will charge unreasonable prices for the items. This store should be grateful with the customers and not the other way around. Low the prices, or at least stop calling it "thrift store".

I always have a hope that I might be able to find something which is of used but of good quality and cheaper than buying new but this is all but a pipe dream.

The staff have always been polite, so my rating is purely based on the the shops pricing. Beware, finding a bargain isn't realistic but getting ripped off is.

I am a big fan of thrift stores, but not this one. It is not a real thrift store, it should be renamed Crossway Community Theft. The one in Banff, Rundle United Thrift Shop, is way better and is where I normally donate/buy my stuff when I need to.

I go in once in a while to look around, but always leave empty handed because of the prices.

I normally get my books from thrift stores but this one is the worst I have ever seen, books are very expensive and the price doesn't reflect the condition. Books have a standard price unless they decide it is more expensive. For example, a 10 year old book that looks like it was found floating in the sea after 2 year costs 5$, a 5 year old book of the same series in pristine condition is also 5$ and the latest one in the series, which is 2 years old and worth 15$ new in any airports is marked up to 10$.

Stop donating and buying from this place. Either donate to the one in Banff or give it away on marketplace.
