The Yorkdale location is full of horrible staff. I called to inquire about a price adjustment as I live an hour away and wanted to make sure it was worth the drive to go there and get the price adjustment. I spoke to Marlene who kept going in circles and didn’t seem to know the policy - even though I read it to her from their website which showed the items I wanted to price match were eligible. She had the audacity to ask me why I care so much about a price match and I should just buy it from the competitor instead. That is absolutely pathetic and out of line to even question. Mind you. I had a crate and barrel gift card which is why I wanted to buy from there - not that it’s ANY of her concern. Since she couldn’t answer my questions, I asked if she could transfer me to someone who would could provide me with useful information - to which she was insulted and said I was being disrespectful. She said she’s been working there for 16 years, yet she couldn’t figure out the policy for their price adjustments which is on the website. She was so rude about it and claimed I was being rude… I’m sorry as a customer I’m not trying to sit on the phone for 20 minutes and waste time since you can’t do your job and take insult when I ask for someone who can provide me with useful information. She hung up on me since she was so emotional and worked up from me saying that. I called customer service - who agreed this lady Marlene was totally out of line - they helped me right away and did the price adjustment in 2 minutes (something Marlene was trying to purposely make difficult it seemed). Thankfully customer service made the process very smooth and didn’t take 30 minutes trying to figure things out. Marlene was completely out of line and I called the store manager to complain I think it was Loraine? But she seemed to have an attitude too. There is NOTHING high end about this store except how overpriced they are - which is totally fine but match it with the service. I’d recommend pottery barn or Williams Sonoma, they make sure to provide high end products with high end service. Crate and barrel seems to have old employees who are entitled and arrogant since they’ve been working there for so long and feel the need to brag about it.

Edit: despite some of the off interactions, the manager (tall Asian lady) can’t remember her name and one of the sales associate (can’t remember her name) helped me pick out a vase and stems for my room. They were even nice enough to show me how to get the stems to stay in place!
Very pleased with how it turned out.

Great service always! I have bought most of my decor, plates and pillows here and have never had an issue with the sales associates.

Edit: If you are visiting the Yorkdale location, AVOID a sales associate name Guy (has long dark hair). He is very incompetent and will straight up lie to your face, which in this scenario is a loss for him as he lost a sale. I went there on February 25, 2023 to order a pillow cover on sale. Because there was no stock, I asked a sales associate named Guy if he can order it and pick it up in store. He said no you can't do that (which is a lie) because I have done that before and had no problem. I went downstairs and the SA helping me out said they can do that and put the order through. I picked up the pillow cover today March 10th and there was NO ISSUE which clearly proves that this SA lies to customers and is incompetent. |His attitude towards me was also very rude and vain. Not to mention it took him a good 5 minutes to find the item on the system even though I verbally told him the sku code and showed it to him on my phone lool. He could not find the item on the system as he was putting the wrong code.

Extremely pricey. Most of the items don’t even look worth the tag. I had to use a gift card and couldn’t make a decision since amount was low and prices were higher. Their free coffee is also empty. When asked they didn’t have the pods. Really? There are much much better stores with quality and affordable pricing than this. They have majorly all glasses everywhere. The kitchen gadget section is fine. Rest not so grade as hyped. I bought two items let’s see if they are worth enough. Not to forget their return policy is 90 days. They have same items priced much higher than other stores too. Not a single outstanding piece I could find that was affordable. Not going back to pay extra for something I can get better quality and price elsewhere.

Stellar service over the phone from Antonio today! Super patient, super personable, super knowledgeable about the products and inventory, simply great customer service. I feel that he went above and beyond the call of duty. 10/10 recommend!

Bought table for warehouse pickup.
Received confirmation call from the warehouse and rented a U-Haul truck for pick up.
When I arrived at the ware house, I was told the item is suddenly missing and not available.

I called customer service 5 times and was told they are trying best to locate the item.
Not to mention I waited 30 minutes each time to talk to agent, I never received call back from them.

With no compensation and reimbursement of my truck rental, I had no option but to cancel my order.
I will never buy anything from Crate and barrel in my life.

It's a beautiful store - even more impressive than the US versions. This has to be one of the better Crate and Barrel stores out there. There are two stories - beautiful collection of quality mid century design furniture upstairs, and all the usual kitchen, dinning room stuff downstairs. Great selections and fairly priced as per the quality. Well managed and organized store.

Horrible customer service experience I've ever had.
I ordered the final sale table Early June, and I got the call from warehouse to pick up July 16th. And I visited the warehouse and it doesn't fit for my car. I asked them to wrapped out and bring only my furniture. the warehouse staff told me it can't. So, I let them know to bring U haul truck and coming back the Saturday.

July 20th Saturday, I re-visited the warehouse, the staff told me Crate And Barrel took my table and delivery it other location..

And I called customer service center, the agent told me she will care my case as expedite. But I never got the call back from customer service center.

I spent the money to rent U-haul (almost $200).
But they didn't reimburse that amount.

The worst thing is, when I called to the customer service center, she told me the product was damaged, that's why they can't sell the table.

The ridiculous thing is I saw my table July 16th in the warehouse.There is no damage.

She was lying to cover their fault. I think this is unacceptable situation for me.

And, I escalated this case to Senior Manager, she also told me she can grant 15% coupon for us as compensation.

I can get 15% coupon when I subscribe crate and barrel website.

Do you think this is the compensation

If someone want to consider to buy product in here, I strongly recommended find other seller.

Yes, Crate and Barrel sell beautiful furniture, but dealing with this company has been like banging my head against a brick wall. I ordered a set of kitchen/dining furniture in May this year - I was informed at purchase that the bar stools wouldn’t be available til July and that with shipping they would hold the order til everything was ready. I selected the pick-up option so I could get the dining table an chairs sooner, and would pick up the stools when they were ready later. In July, when I received the email saying the 2 stools were ready, when I showed up to pick them up (a 4 hour round trip) I was told actually only one stool is ready, the other one won’t be ready til late August. I called the company to ask that the other stool be delivered given this was their error and was essentially told no problem, we’ll arrange that once it’s available. 2 months later and at least 8 phone calls, multiple emails later, I am so frustrated and confused - I get a different message every time I call about this issue. Sometimes “yes, no problem we’ll ship it and waive the fee, but the items not ready” (even though I’m getting messages that it is), and other times “oh sure but that’ll be $600 delivery fee”. There seems to be no process for consistent communication, escalation, or complaints. This company acts like it’s high end but can not figure out basic customer service. I won’t be doing any online business with them again and would only recommend if you’re buying and picking up at the time of purchase.
