We took the Birding Basics Tour in early October 2024 and it was excellent. Our guide, Ryan, was exceptional. Ryan was friendly, welcoming and supremely knowledgeable about the whole park and all of the wildlife within it but also about the brilliant Wild Bird Fund on Columbus Ave who also do amazing work. We learned so much and saw some amazing birds and wildlife and would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Took the "Heart of the Park" guided tour and loved it! The tour guide was so knowledgable and it was nice to be in a small group. It was so interesting to hear about the history behind what I had seen many times but did not know the full meaning of. Definitely recommend touring the park with the experts who care for it!

We took the iconic spots in central park tour with Juan on a dry winter Saturday. Absolutely fantastic, I would recommend this tour to anyone. We were given headphones so we could easily hear no matter if there was a performer or just if we fell to the back of the crowd. Juan was an amazing guide. Please take this tour!

We had paid $25 each for the Central Park tour and no one ever showed up. We spoke to the person at the information booth for the conservancy and he did nothing other than be rude / disrespectful. After waiting 20 minutes past the “start” of the tour that was supposed to meet near the Samuel Morse statue, we called it since no one was showed up. After passing by the information booth, the attendant decided to harass us some more by saying that we were giving up and we let him know that we could not wait any longer due to their incompetence. Highly recommend not doing any paid tours with the Central Park Conservancy.

So, we emailed them when we got back to our home state and they basically said that we were wrong and that they had done nothing wrong. Well except for letting us know by email that they had made a mistake in the meeting location and with the confirmation emails sent before the tour. If I could give them 0 stars I would - not worth your money or time dealing with them.

Update - the conservancy has been in contact with us and they have rectified the situation. Maybe they had an off day and this is a one time thing. I have updated my stars to 3 since they have taken the steps to make sure it does not happen to anyone else. Central Park is very pretty and I hope that your experience is very different from ours. I would give them a shot over the private bike tours that are done by private citizens.

Horrible pickleball courts. The players are fantastic people. It’s so sad the most progressive city on the planet is so far behind supporting the fastest growing sport in America. #EpicFail for Central Park. I travel around the US and play pickleball tournaments everywhere. Really expected more from my Central Park visit, but what I observed was shockingly bad. PB Tournaments could bring in thousands of tourist per year!
