Please ensure you have the ability to pay the small trail fee. Cell phone reception is non-existent on the trail so using the online option should be in advance. Otherwise $3 in change at the trail entrance.
Fee is well warranted.

Trail is beautifully maintained. Lots of great loops that can make your hike shorter or longer. I had my 6 year old with me so we were able to do some smaller loops.

Great variation in scenery and most of the trail is flat and wide. Very easy to walk.

Lots of off leash dogs which is unfortunate as it clearly states to leash dogs at the entrance.

All in all wonderful and calming hike.

We recently found this conservation area when we were looking for some trails to take our three years old on.

The conservation area is beautiful. There are a few different trails and although some of them have hills, our son could navigate them with a little help. Lots of opportunities here for discussions about nature including a variety of plant life, lots of moss and different animal tracks.

There is a fee for using the trails. But if it is small and helps conserve the area so it is totally worth it.

I suggest snapping a picture of the map as you walk in, because there is no cell signal and although the trails are marked. It can be nice to know where you are going.

Highly recommend! We have only gone in the winter time, but I imagine some bug spray will be needed in the summer.

I have frequented this spot for years, however it seems to be the new dog park. My last couple visits I have encountered ill mannered off leash dogs with owners who are even more ill mannered. Also the maintenance has gone downhill since before covid which is a bit disappointing. Its too bad CCA doesn’t have enforcement for the rules. After encountering some not so friendly dogs off leash, my dog and I no longer feel very comfortable enjoying our hikes here.

Nice and easy conservation area. At the start is a simple gravel lot for parking. There are two paths available, which together give around 4km of trail. The trails have markers at intersections but are fairly straightforward from the map at the start. Paths are wide and easy with lots of birds and trees for a pleasant walk.

Clearly visible paths, a winding creek, a bridge, hills, different types of forest throughout, lots of wildlife. Please note: terrain is varied, a few fallen trees and larger branches have fallen onto the paths, there isn't a garbage can, and dogs are allowed on leash.

This is our favourite place to go for a walk in the woods. Such a beautiful trail with lots of different animal life and vegetation. The wood floored bridge makes for nice photos. The paths are well maintained and mostly free of fallen trees. Be sure to leave some money in the trail box or send Catfish Creek a donation.

Great trails, gorgeous london plane trees and ephemerals. Friendly hikers as well. Met a lady with a dog named Hank too.

Great trails beside the winding river. Perfect place to relax! According to the friendly greetings and smiles, people love the scenic get away, specially the pine tree area.
