I was interested in a home in Abilene, TX made by Ameritex, with a military assignment to the area next month. My realtor and I had been speaking with the representatives to determine some details that were unclear from the listing, finally getting the information and being told that a deal could be made. I submitted an offer the same day, being told hours later that the company had sold the house out from under me to a rental agency.

For a company named "Ameritex", they don't seem to treat military very well, and are seriously lacking in that Texas hospitality. Reading these reviews on home quality though, it looks like I may have dodged a bullet.
