Very clean, quiet trail. It's interesting to see the ways people leave behind a bit of history through carvings, walking sticks, desire trails, and even a fort.

5 stars Very Nice place to go with kids.. update 06/04/24. 1 star. The trails are very overgrown and there is poison ivy growing everywhere. Use to be nice but not anymore.. they have a clean up coming up on June 8th. but they never should had let it get like that. Also they have most of the woods blocked with a fence. It says they are wild goats but I never seen one. Very disappointed

Small, but nice wooded area. If it was bigger and not so close to the schools, sports fields, and busy roads, I would give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, you can basically always hear either the cars on the roads or if you go at the time I went, kids and crowds screaming and whistles blowing constantly during some sports game. I wouldn't recommend going around the time when kids would be playing on the fields for that reason. Perhaps it's more peaceful earlier in the day though. It was lovely for a small urban forest, but just don't expect to be going for a real hike in a quiet forest. I saw a few people walking their dogs and think it would be nice for doing that if you live nearby.

My visit was after dark for the Halloween Pumpkin Walk. Over 50 decorated pumpkins. It was a nice event (with admission charge). I have not visited during daytime so cannot comment on that.

Saddler's Woods is almost hidden behind a shopping center in Haddon Township. I'm so glad a local meet-up group alerted me to its existence! It is a patch of rare old growth forest and when you walk onto the trail head from the street, you are immediately in a different world. Trails are not very well marked, but the park is not very big. There's a fence and a road to orient yourself. A lot of the paths are wide, though you have a cross a creek at some points (which requires some modest climbing and rock hopping). There's also a decent amount of poison ivy to keep an eye out for. It has a few little hills but not much elevation otherwise. My 2.5 year-old had a blast stomping through the woods (she loves hills and climbing and general adventuring). Most importantly though: the last time we went, we saw Great Horned Owls! It was amazing! I definitely recommend checking it out!

It was a beautiful day with overcast weather. I have accidentally entered the trail in the saddler woods. What I have experienced is totally awesome. The long trees, the small creek, the wooden trunk to cross the creek, and the bike trail.

In one of the winter, I have taken the snow sledge to come down the bike trail ramp. It was no poconos but the fact that I could get snow tubing experience right at home is awesome.

There are two boards explaining the significance of the woods and Mr Saddler. Nice history, beautiful preservation.
