Pretty great for wildlife photography from the car. Seems like a place you can’t get lost in but, on the foot trails it can get a little confusing. Remember where you parked! Everything looks the same!

The weir has been keeping Sacramento dry since 1916. It’s also a great place to take pictures of the river and to see a variety of wildlife.

Lots of star thorns and high brush. No ticks that I can find on the dog or me, check the paws for thorns.
Good for quail and jackrabbit hunting.

I guess it's okay it's cool to see the birds in the winter time and I've gotten some good photos of the city with the White Cap mountains behind it that turned out real nice the rice farmers down there are a little grouchy but other than that it's a good way to kill five or six hours

I love to go run my dog. So much stuff for him to see. I run him because of the space. Also good place to fish.

The city or county cut down all but one tree. So it's hot with shade. Still see people fish there. But very few. Less garbage, less people dumping garbage which is weird because the trees never hid them from view. Watch for snakes if you visit. But not much to enjoy by the water because the shade is gone. Drive a bit further and park to visit the river under some shade.

After seeing the bypass getting worked on towards the back area of County Road 126 it's looking amazing still more word getting done currently

Not much to do here. Just a flat expanse of nothing. It is nice for a walk with dogs. The weir is fun to see when they open it during the winter season.
