We visited on a mid-September evening for the wagon ride arranged by the Denver Botanical Gardens. The small group of 10 was led by the intrepid and enthusiastic Dean. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic in his presentation. His audience this evening was all adults, but I am sure his presentation to a group including youngsters would be just as engaging. The 2+ hour tour was amazing. Pronghorn Sheep, Rabbits, Bald Eagles, Prairie Dogs (Colony), and more are likely to be viewed. Just Go.... Take more layers of clothes than you think you need.

An educational experience that is also fun.

Enjoy learning about Colorado's early history and life as a native American and settler in those times with hands on experiences from hunting with weapons to sitting in the schoolhouse and much more.

There were plenty of animals to see and learn about. Each kid was allowed to shoot 2 arrows from a bow at some targets and throw 6 spears (small crooked sticks) at airborne and ground based targets simulated with rolled and thrown wooden hoops.

There were hands on exercises to learn about old devices and objects from settler life and native American life. There was a wagon ride as well, although this was a school field trip so I don't know if that was always available.

A really nice place with lots of fun for the kids.

Lovely setting with a nice wagon ride through the plains. We got to see quite a wide variety of animals and learn about them as our tour guide would stop and teach us different things on the way. Very nice experience.

I'm sorry it took me so long to get back out here, absolutely beautiful. You'll see antelope, meadowlark and prairie dogs amongst the beautiful plains scenery.

Beautiful so many vendors and volunteers who are very knowledgeable. I learned a lot and had fun even with the teens they did the scavenger hunt. Barn animals were amazing. Got to pet and feed some. Seen replicas of homes from the homestead act. Tasted some yummy cookies. Definitely go check this out during events or just for a nice peaceful hike. A warning sign for Rattlesnakes was by the visitor center we didn't run into any thankfully.

My wife and I love to visit the Plains Conservation Center! We are lucky enough to live close, so we often go to walk and enjoy the quiet and solitude. The Beauty of this place is sublime, rather than dramatic, so it rewards the visitor that more carefully observes their surroundings.
